My Journey of Emotional Growth through Art

Art takes inspiration from real life. Even the most ludicrous ideas in any form of visual art have a base that is rooted in reality. After all, the creator cannot deny he is human.

Therefore, let's accept it: art stirs emotions and taps deep into the depth of souls. It ignites self-awareness and evokes a motley of feelings for an artist as well as an appreciator of the art, leaving a deep impact that can either lead to curiosity, self-growth or confusion.

As a young lad of 13 when I started my journey into the art world, I was simply seeking appreciation from my teacher and validation from my peers.

The happiness or the high I received from compliments encouraged me, fueling my motivation. However, this happiness didn't last long because I left art easily when I got busy pursuing academics.

I distinctly remember the moment when I first presented my artwork to Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin TUS, the kind words and praise He showered me with, truly elevated the artist within me.

It stirred the dormant passion and the artist within me. Upon closer inspection of Syedna’s words, I realised how important it was for me to explore and grow beyond the path that was chosen or carved out for me.

I had to transcend the barriers of limitations and learn time management to make room for the this skill. The process was complex and layered but the beauty lay in thriving.

Today, I am multitasking, sometimes trying very hard to find time for my artistic sensibility, but my ability to not succumb and stay connected with the art world helps me bounce back.

Art has this innate ability to help you process the most difficult, darkest and innermost feelings and situations and still consciously inspires an effort to portray a picture that, though mirroring emotions of joy and sadness, makes you contemplate and strive to portray hope and speak to many suffering souls directly through art.

My engagement with art in recent years through graphite and charcoal pencils may have given a picture of dreariness but I deeply want to spark meaningful conversations and think of a solution to navigate the complexities through shared experiences, empathy and compassion.

I am also using colours now because my art has healed me and helped me enjoy a journey of self-discovery and emotional exploration.

As I continue embarking on a journey of exploring and experiencing the full spectrum of vibrant colours and emotions, I hope my viewers and art lovers can find solace, inspiration and meaning in the beauty of hope through my colorful artwork.
